Campagnolo
Campagnolo Bikes and Accessories from Askew Cycles
Campagnolo is currently celebrating its 75th anniversary as one of the world’s most renowned brand names in cycling. The headquarters of this Italian bicycle part manufacturing company are located in Vincenza, Italy. The company designs components organized into what are known as gruppi or groupsets, with its Record and Chorus as its two highest grade groups.
History of Campagnolo
Campagnolo was created by an Italian named Tullio Campagnolo back in 1933. An accomplished bicycler racer, Tullio began designing bikes in his small workshop. He is renowned for creating innovative racings components, including derailleurs, the rod gear used for changing gears and the quick release mechanism for bicycle wheels.
One thing that distinguishes Campagnolo from other companies is the fact that it relies on material engineering. Consumers appreciate the fact that Campagnolo components can be easily serviced, and spare parts can be purchased. In fact, many of the first parts have been successfully rebuilt, and are still performing well today.
Campagnolo began to use carbon fibre parts for their groupsets and complete wheelsets in the late 1990s and early 2000s. The company designed a complete compact drivetrain system in 2004 with smaller chainring sizes that permitted lower gear ratios than traditional models.
Available Components
If you’re looking for high-quality Campagnolo components, Askew Cycles has what you need! The Veloce bottom brackets are very lightweight and stiff, which ensures that energy is not dispersed while you are pedaling.
The Centaur groupsets consist of 8 high-quality components, including: a chain, cassette, now with ultra-torque crankset, bottom bracket, front & rear brake callipers, left & right ergopowers and front and rear derailleur. The Pista groupset contains a crankset, bottom bracket and hubs that are designed specifically for the track, as well as pedals, a seat post and headset.
